Biography

When she was born - in Cordova, on Alaska's pristine Prince William Sound - Jeane's father was a lawman. Later he moved the family to a farm in northern Idaho, where she continued contemplating nature - and human nature. She earned her way through the University of Idaho and an honors B.A. in Sociology.

Marriage, a job in social work, and three children - Teresa, Jay and Stan - followed. After moving to the Okanagan Valley of western Canada, she parented while writing for newspapers and a regional magazine. She's also been an editor, counsellor, Big Brothers' executive director, and publicist for a theatre company that travelled in gypsy wagons pulled by Clydesdale horses.

In 1981 Jeane had encountered an electrician who invented a potentially revolutionary magnetic motor/generator. Through him and his wife she met others in the ?free-energy underground? from Germany to South Africa, and discovered books about Nikola Tesla and other unsung pioneer inventors. The implications of their inventions included two of her concerns - ecology and social justice. During the 1980's, she began researching for a book about this fascinating movement and its people. While editing a small-town newspaper, Jeane used her vacations to fly to conferences to interview frontier scientists and engineers. German Association for Field Energy, the Swiss Association for Free Energy, Planetary Association for Clean Energy, International Tesla Society, and even a magnet factory hosted them.In 1989, her birthplace in Alaska was fouled by the Exxon Valdez oil spill. The horrific news strengthened her resolve to research non-polluting energy sources. In 1994, The Explorations program of Canada Council for the Arts awarded her book project, then titled Living Energy , enough funding for gasoline and food expenses. That autumn, Jeane steered her little Nissan pickup onto cross-country highways to visit inventors and other researchers. After two months of travel, one morning she awoke - in her sleeping bag in the Nissan's camper - to a white world outside the window. The chill she felt, however, had more to do with what she'd learned on the trip than with a Wyoming blizzard. Her upbringing had not prepared her for the corruption in trusted public servants, and other obstacles, faced by the people she had interviewed.Much of what she learned during that odyssey, on the other hand, was good news. She heard that a multilingual architect in Australia was bringing out a book titled Living Energies. He had masterfully interpreted the works of her favorite energy pioneer, the late Viktor Schauberger of Austria, so she gladly changed her manuscript title.

Description

Although a broad collection of intriguing energy technology research is described in this book, it is annoying to read. Not only does it lack footnotes or references for any technical details but the author consistently asserts that the researchers described have been treated inappropriately and meanspiritedly. For example, Nikola Tesla couldn't obtain adequate funding and so was frozen out of the energy field. John Keely received funding but was pressured for quick results, causing his ruination. One third of the book deals with individuals working on "free/space energy" or "zero-point energy": the untapped energy that exists in space. The rest of the book deals with other technologies: cold fusion, hydrogen, water hammers, etc., and the problems their advocates have encountered. While some of these technologies do show promise, the author feels they have all been deliberately suppressed?either by government, big business, or the media. She ignores the practicality question and simply concludes that conspiracy and/or persecution explain why more progress hasn't been made. Not an essential purchase. - Hilary Burton, Lawrence Livermore National Lab., Livermore, Cal.

Description

From a rural location in Alaska, controlled by "Big Oil", the US government is blasting billions of watts of high frequency microwave energy at our protective ionospheric shell which surrounds the earth. Their offical reason is "to see what it does". Several acres of Alaskan land have been dedicated to the construction of the HAARP array (you can actually find a picture of it online...)but it's real purpose runs from the practical (earth tomography (X-ray the earth to look for enemy submarines and secret underground bases)) through the hard to believe (transmission of electrical power without wires (Tesla's idea) through the insane (the complete disruption of global communications and mucking with weather patterns by shifting the jet stream).

This book is so well documented, often citing documents published by the US government itself, that it is absolutely convincing and frightening.  - Anthony G. Holland

Description

Breakthrough Power: How Quantum-leap New Energy Inventions Can Transform Our World is a reader-friendly book for introducing revolutionary clean energy systems, Tesla devices and other zero-pollution prospects for sourcing nearly free energy.

Alternative energy abundance is humankind?s birthright, according to scientists interviewed for Breakthrough Power. They point out the rich variety of clean energy inventions that the public usually doesn?t hear about. Yet these topics directly relate to both climate change and the world economy and humanitarian projects.

For instance, when the human family realizes that oil wars and polluting nuclear power plants are unnecessary, tremendous financial resources can be freed for planetary cleanup, social justice and local prosperity.

Just in time for gift-giving, this long-awaited book provides hope for the future -- along with realistic reasons why we, the people, must help ?free the energy revolution.?

With compelling stories of brave innovators and their various breakthroughs that can replace coal and other polluting fuels, it makes the case for open-sourcing clean-energy inventions. The book explains how even ?non-techies? can envision and therefore help manifest a higher civilization assisted by energy abundance. It?s an easy-to-read wealth of information and illustrative stories.

Manning is the author of the internationally recognized book The Coming Energy Revolution (1996), and co-author of Angels Don?t Play This HAARP (1995). Garbon, a science consultant to industry, is president of The New Energy MovementBreakthrough Power is a profound gift to give to people of all ages who want a more harmonious world.

Professional skeptics were stumped, a generation or two ago, by an invention in Utah. Incredulously, people witnessed a working "free energy" device. Men of science mailed impressive credentials ahead to open the inventor's workshop door, then strode in to examine his table top apparatus from all angles, poking it and interrogating him in their search for evidence of fraud. Scientists were allowed to dismantle everything except a delicate two-ounce component, the Radiant Energy detector. When the unit was put back together, they ended up witnessing - but not all believing their eyes - as the self-contained unit converted some unknown energy into usable power, and ran continually for days at a time. Without any moving parts, the device produced a strange cold form of electricity which lit incandescent bulbs, heated a flat iron and ran a motor...

Abstract:

Colorado Springs, International Tesla Symposium, July 1988 - The man sitting next to me was in tears, shaking with quiet hiccuping sobs as if trying to be unobtrusive. He was rotund and wore thick glasses, but otherwise there was little to distinguish his appearance from that of two hundred other electrical engineers and other Tesla fans in the convention hall, still attentive to the scientist who had addressed them so eloquently and was leaving the podium.

It was not difficult to figure out why the man beside me was moved emotionally. The guest speaker, astrophysicist Adam Trombly, seemed to have choreographed his talk to lead to the moment. First, he warmed up his audience by praising his hero. He reminded them that Nikola Tesla was the turn-of-the-century genius who fathered alternating current technologies, radar, flourescent tubes, and bladeless turbines. Tesla also presented the first viable arguments for robots, rockets, and particle beams. If society had followed upon the inventions Nikola Tesla envisioned at the turn of the century as he rode in a carriage near what is now this hotel, said Trombley, "we wouldn't have a fossil-fuel economy today. And J. P. Morgan, Rockefeller and a number of others wouldn't have amassed extraordinary fortunes on the basis of that fossil fuel economy...

Threatening to hang the fifty-eight-year-old man and to harm his family if he did not cooperate, Adolf Hitler forced an Austrian inventor to build a flying craft which levitated without burning any fuel. The inventor had previously produced electrical power from a unique suction turbineby the same implosion principles, using air or water in creating the force. The Third Reich wanted these inventions developed quickly. But the inventor took his time; understandably he did not want to give Hitler a technological advantage...
