Censorship in Science
I have been involved in science for 60 years, and from the start have found censorship (of heresy) to be perhaps the most important feature of science, one of the factors leading to the conclusion that “Modern Physics” should be classed as Religion, not Science. I have published and lectured on what I call the Sociology of Science, but have had no response from academics involved in the Sociology of Science. It is as though censorship did not exist in science, although sociologists are surely well aware of Kuhn and Polanyi.

Surely they realise that since science involves paradigm change, it will also involve censorship via peer review. This link between peer review and censorship becomes clear from MacRoberts.
Have all sociologists failed to link the four together; Kuhn, paradigm change, peer review and censorship? If not, please tell me what to read.
I think Professor Brian Martin, in his book “Suppression”, says the discipline “Sociology”, or “Sociology of Science”, excludes censorship, confirming my experience. Do they fall into line with Pieraccini?
Are his ideas outside the remit of the academic discipline “Sociology of Science”, dismissed as fantasy?
This email is addressed Bcc to 14 academics involved in “The Sociology of Science”. I do hope to be told what to read.
