  • Aether Based Gravity, Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics and Entanglement (2019) [Updated 4 years ago]

This paper ties together my articles and papers that propose a physical model of the cause of gravity and a physical base of the phenomena of electromagnetism, quantum mechanics and entanglement. The paper proposes that the medium of aether is the common element that underlies gravity, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics and entanglement.

  • Aether Concept of Gravity (2017) [Updated 6 years ago]

The author has proposed a conceptual model of the cause of gravity. The concept is set out in a trilogy of articles, The Cause of Gravity: A Concept, Flowing Aether: A Concept, and Outflowing Aether.

The three cited articles propose a model of a mechanical cause of gravity. The process is cyclic, much like the rain cycle we experience on Earth. Aether cells evaporate from cosmic bodies, migrate into space, condense into groups (droplets) of cells, and condensed-state aether flows back into cosmic bodies. Inflowing aether exerts ram pressure on the atomic matter of cosmic bodies. Outflowing aether also exerts ram pressure on atomic matter, but to a lesser extent. The net difference is the force of gravity.

The gravity process involves numerous elements that operate in conjunction with each other. This article considers these elements and describes their roles in terms of physical cause and effect.

  • Maxwell's Aether: A Solution to Entanglement (2016) [Updated 7 years ago]

This paper argues that the solution to the problem of entanglement lies in viewing entanglement in the context of the medium of aether as conceived by James Clerk Maxwell, rather than as a phenomenon of quantum mechanics.  It is argued that the apparent correlation of 'spin up' and 'spin down' photons that is said to constitute entanglement, is in fact a phenomenon caused by polarization of the medium of aether, not by travelling photons as envisaged by quantum mechanics.

  • On the Cause or Causes of Inertia (2015) [Updated 9 years ago]

This article sets out two possible causes of inertia.  The first is that a sub-atomic substance – aether – restricts the movement of atoms and atomic matter.  The second is that vibrations within atoms restrict the movement of atoms and atomic matter.

  • On the Structure of Atoms (2015) [Updated 8 years ago]

The idea of atoms being structured by particles that are physically attached to each other, like connected pieces of a Meccano set, has been around a long time. As a broad proposition, it has a certain appeal. However, it is not in vogue at the present time, perhaps because it is difficult to envision its precise details, such as how might the particles be shaped and how can they physically form structures. Present day science conceives that forces, such as the strong force and electromagnetic forces, provide atoms with structure. What if the force concept turns out to be wrong? Then, the physical attachment approach comes back into focus.

This article brings the physical attachment concept back into consideration. It suggests that atoms are structured by means of their constituent particles being physically connected to each other. Implications of the concept are discussed in the article.

  • Unity Between Gravitational And Electromagnetic Forces: A Concept (2012) [Updated 7 years ago]
by Duncan W. Shaw   read the paper:

This paper ties together gravity, electricity and magnetism. It proposes that aether is the common denominator of those phenomena, with the bulk flow of aether being the cause of gravity and the interaction of cells of aether being the source of electricity and magnetism. The paper sets out implications arising from the unity proposal.

  • Electricity and Magnetism: A Return to Aether (2011) [Updated 1 decade ago]
by Duncan W. Shaw   read the paper:

This paper proposes a physical model of electromagnetic fields. The model draws upon the works of James Clerk Maxwell. It is based upon the proposition that the medium of aether that Maxwell believed existed, does in fact exist. This paper posits that aether consists of highly elastic cells that collide with each other. It ties the interaction of aether cell collisions to the transmission of electricity and magnetism.

  • The Cause of Gravity: A Concept (2010) [Updated 7 years ago]
by Duncan W. Shaw   read the paper:

Einstein's General Theory of Relativity sets out a theory of gravity which does not postulate a physical force as the cause of gravity; rather, it provides a geometric explanation for gravity. The present paper makes a proposal to fill this gap with a concept of gravity that is strictly physical. The proposal is premised upon the propositions that a sub-atomic substance (?aether?) permeates space and that stars, planets and other cosmic bodies absorb aether. The absorption of aether is seen as part of the process of the operation of cosmic bodies. The mechanism which this paper offers as the cause of gravity is that the absorption of aether by a cosmic body causes a flow of aether towards the cosmic body, and the inflow of aether exerts ram pressure upon any matter in its path. The result is gravity. This paper also considers several phenomena which may be explained by the proposed aether and gravity concepts.

  • On The Cause of Gravity (2009) [Updated 1 decade ago]
by Duncan W. Shaw   read the paper:

This paper proposes a physical explanation for the cause of gravity. The proposal is built upon two fundamental postulates: (1) the existence of aether as a sub-atomic substance; and (2) the absorption of aether by atoms. The explanation which the paper offers for the cause of gravity is that the absorption of aether by atoms causes a flow of aether towards the atoms (e.g., the Earth) and the flowing aether exerts momentum upon any matter in its path. The result is gravity. In addition, this paper suggests that the above concept provides an explanation for dark matter, dark energy and other phenomena.
